About me
A personal introduction to my work, family journeys, interest in history, and evolving exploration of artificial intelligence.
The short version
I am S. M. Nazmul Hasan, a technology entrepreneur, history enthusiast, traveler, and proud father of two lovely angels.
I was born and raised in Jashore, Bangladesh—one of the oldest cities in the region. Growing up in a place shaped by history and culture influenced my curiosity about people, civilizations, and the forces that shape societies. That curiosity continues to guide both my travels and my work.
01 / Technology
My professional journey began in 2007 after I completed my degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET).
I started my career as a software developer at R&D Applications and later became a Development Team Lead at IBSS BD Limited. From 2010 to 2012, I worked in Hyderabad, India, as Technical Director of Voxvalley Technologies, where I led technical teams and contributed to the development and delivery of mobile and software products.
I later co-founded and served as CEO of SPL, gaining experience in business strategy, operations, and entrepreneurship.
In 2015, I founded Kolpolok Limited. Today, I serve as its Founder and CEO, guiding its development into a diversified technology company serving customers and partners internationally.
Over nearly two decades, my work has evolved across VoIP, cybersecurity, VPN technology, SaaS and PaaS, IoT, telematics, fleet-management systems, enterprise platforms, and digital products.
I have been closely involved in developing Symlex VPN, white-label VPN platforms, GotiVMS, eSIM solutions, and technology projects for businesses, government organizations, and institutions. Symlex VPN has become one of Kolpolok’s most internationally recognized products, with its ecosystem reaching users across multiple continents. In 2022, it was named National Champion in the Cyber Security Product category.
02 / AI journey
My current focus is on AI automation, agentic AI, AI architecture, and the development of an AI-native Company OS.
I am exploring how AI agents can participate meaningfully in software development, product management, research, content creation, business operations, and organizational decision-making. My goal is not simply to add AI features to conventional software, but to understand how products, workflows, teams, and companies can be redesigned around intelligent systems.
This represents the next stage of my technology journey: moving from conventional software development toward AI-powered products, intelligent automation, agentic systems, and AI-native organizational architecture.
I remain closely involved in product direction, organizational design, international growth, and the practical challenges of building a sustainable technology company. I believe meaningful innovation happens when technical capability is combined with a genuine understanding of people, organizations, markets, and real-world problems.
03 / Beyond work
Alongside my professional experience, I have continued developing my knowledge of management, leadership, and project execution.
I earned the Advanced Certificate for Management Professionals from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, completed the CXO Strategy Conclave, and became a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
I have also contributed through mentoring and outreach activities with the PMI Bangladesh Chapter. Beyond business, I have provided voluntary technology consultancy to Bidyanondo, a Bangladeshi charitable organization, including involvement in an initiative to develop a donation-powered food vending machine.
I speak Bangla as my native language, English professionally, and Hindi at a professional working level.
04 / Family journeys
Travel is one of the most meaningful parts of my life. I enjoy family road trips, historical places, museums, national parks, cities, and the stories connecting landscapes with human civilization.
Most of my journeys have been shared with my family. Some became even more special because my parents and in-laws joined us. These experiences are more than a collection of destinations; they are part of our shared family story.
Our travels across Asia have taken us to Delhi, Jaipur, and Kolkata in India; Singapore; Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan in Nepal; Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia; Beijing and Shanghai in China; Bangkok and Pattaya in Thailand; and Makkah and Madinah in Saudi Arabia.
My family and I have also explored Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other parts of the United Arab Emirates; the Musandam Peninsula in Oman; Tbilisi in Georgia; Istanbul in Türkiye; and London in England. I visited Paris, France, independently on a business trip.
In Canada, we traveled through Alberta and British Columbia, visiting Calgary, Edmonton, Banff, Jasper, Golden, Drumheller, and the Royal Tyrrell Museum.
We have also completed two extensive family road trips across the United States.
Our first journey took us through Virginia, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts. We visited Shenandoah, an Amish community, New York City, Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Boston, Harvard, and MIT.
Our second journey was an approximately 16,000-kilometre road trip through California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, and Virginia. We experienced the Pacific Coast Highway, remarkable cities, iconic national parks, historic monuments, and some of North America’s most dramatic landscapes.
Across Canada and the United States, our three-month journey covered approximately 20,000 kilometres. These journeys have given me stories that I want to preserve—not only through photographs, but through reflections on the places, people, histories, and family moments that made each experience meaningful.

History gives me another way to understand the present.
I am fascinated by civilizations, leadership, conflict, migration, monuments, and the decisions that shape societies over time. Travel brings many of these subjects to life by allowing me to encounter their stories in the places where they unfolded.
I am not a professional historian. I approach history as a curious reader and traveler—someone interested in understanding how the past continues to influence nations, cultures, and people today.

It is not intended to be a conventional corporate portfolio or a complete record of my professional achievements.
